About the SDSN

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was set up in 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. SDSN works closely with United Nations agencies, multilateral financing institutions, the private sector, and civil society.

About Global Schools

Global Schools’ mission is to create a world where every primary and secondary school student is equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for effectively responding to the greatest challenges of this century and shaping a sustainable and prosperous world. The Global Schools Program has been working internationally to support schools and educators with evidence-informed training and localized classroom resources to integrate sustainable development into school curricula, operations, and activities.

About the Project

In partnership with Siemens Energy, SDSN leads the Schools for Goal 7 program. Schools for Goal 7 trains teachers and students on the Energy Transition and Sustainable Development using gamified curricula, using the Planet Rescuers Minecraft Education video game. The overall vision of the project is to provide practical, hands-on experience to students in engaging with topics such as the energy transition, renewable energy, climate change, and sustainability, ensuring youth have the skills and capabilities to build more resilient societies.
