About the SDSN and the Networks
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (
SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. SDSN mobilizes global scientific and technological expertise to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Climate Agreement. We aim to accelerate joint learning and promote integrated approaches that address the interconnected economic, social, and environmental challenges confronting the world. The SDSN Networks team also contributes to several innovative projects funded by the European Commission and international funders, such as
CARMINE,
Universities for Goal 13,
Net Zero on Campus. These projects showcase solutions for transformational climate action, spanning both mitigation and adaptation strategies.
We are now looking for a creative, proactive, and impact-driven consultant to support our team and help us tell our story, coordinate projects, and bring our global mission to life. The consultant will work closely with our international, multi-cultural, and mission-driven Networks team, ensuring effective coordination, reporting, and dissemination of project activities.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Project Management and Coordination
- Support day-to-day project management, including planning, monitoring timelines, and ensuring deliverables are met.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to align activities and facilitate collaboration.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and presentations.
Communication and Dissemination
- Create and manage communication channels (websites, social media, newsletters) to increase reach and visibility of SDSN’s impact.
- Produce engaging digital and visual content (e.g., reports, videos, social media campaigns, promotional materials, factsheets).
- Draft blogs, for external outreach.
- Compile and report on communication and dissemination metrics.
General Support
- Assist with organizing engaging online and hybrid events.
- Produce creative and design materials (e.g., logos, templates, banners, presentations).
- Undertake additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- 1-2 years prior experience in project coordination and in communications (experience with international or EU-funded projects such as Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ is highly valued).
- Bachelors or Masters degree related to communications, public relations, or international affairs.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Spanish or other European languages are an advantage.
- Experience in monitoring and analyzing communication performance, including social media metrics, website analytics, and dissemination KPIs.
- Familiarity with European affairs and a keen interest in sustainable development.
- Strong digital skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, social media platforms, WordPress).
- Experience with Zoom, Mailchimp/Brevo, Adobe Suite, Canva and other similar tools.
- Ability to work in multicultural environments.

Working Arrangements
- The assignment is home-based/fully remote, with no requirement for physical presence at office premises.
- This position is for candidates based in Spain only.
- The consultant is expected to dedicate approximately 30–35 hours per week, with flexibility in structuring working hours.
- Working hours can remain flexible, ensuring availability for key meetings as required.
- The consultant will report to the SDSN Project Manager, who will provide overall guidance and supervision.
- Regular progress updates will be shared through agreed communication channels.

Payment
The overall payment for the 9-month period will range from € 20,000 to € 28,000 (depending on experience and qualifications).
