The SDSN Asia Headquarter (hosted by Sunway University) is seeking a dynamic and talented individual to help develop and manage National and Regional SDSNs in Asia, and to support their efforts to localize the SDGs. Based out of the Kuala Lumpur office of the SDSN, hosted by Sunway University, the staff will report to the Senior Network Manager (KL office) and Director, Finance and Operations (KL office) and works closely with the SDSN Global team. The position may require international travel occasionally.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and External Relations, the Communications Manager provides critical support and leadership to the Communications Team, helping to enhance SDSN’s overall brand and reputation, increase the visibility and impact of SDSN’s activities, research, network, and members among target audiences, and execute high-level public events around key multi-lateral events, including the International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD), the UN High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), the UN General Assembly, and the Conference of the Parties (COP).

SDSN is seeking a Project Manager to manage the work of CEET and join the Climate and Energy team. The Manager will report to the Head of SDSN’s Climate and Energy Program. The Council is actively working to address some of the key questions around technology feasibility, scalability, and regional contextualization to support a global clean energy transition. The position will serve as a key manager working at the intersection of the Council members, the United Nations, and key partners across the UN system. This Project Manager will have the opportunity to grow fundamental project management skills and tools; build a professional network of mentors and contacts; and be actively involved with discussions exploring some of the most pressing questions around climate change and the global energy transition facing our generation.

The Council is seeking a motivated, personable, and experience Manager who is willing to help steward both the administrative and substantive work of the Council. The Manager will also support key program development and organization around the UNFCCC annual COPs and will have the opportunity to attend COP29 alongside the Council.

In this position, you will support the implementation of a dynamic curriculum that intertwines history, science, geography, and technology with live global interactions. This pivotal role involves coordinating with world-renowned experts for the live lecture series and ensuring a seamless, engaging learning experience for high schoolers worldwide. In addition, it will involve creating key communications assets, strategy documents, and fundraising materials for the program. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for education, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships across cultures and disciplines. It is a plus if the candidate has prior experience developing curriculum, teaching, and/or working directly with school administrators in international settings. The SPA is currently producing a policy brief focused on “Restoration in Practice in the Amazon.” The policy brief will be launched at the CBD COP16 in October 2024, with the goal of supporting policymakers to advance a sustainable development in the Amazon. The SPA is hiring a research consultant to support the development of the brief. The consultant will report to the Lead Authors of the policy brief and work closely with members of the SPA Scientific-Technical Secretariat to elaborate the document. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact policy document under the guidance of the lead authors Dr. Catarina Jakovac (UFSC) and Dr. Nathalia Nascimento (ESALQ/USP) and a group of Latin American co-authors.
